Nigerian startup Grant Master has launched Grant Wizard, an AI-powered grant intelligence platform designed to help African non-profits, startups, and social enterprises discover funding opportunities and generate grant proposals in minutes.
Founded in Ibadan, Grant Master is Africa’s first integrated grant intelligence company, combining AI-powered technology with structured training programs that have equipped more than 1,100 alumni and clients to collectively secure over US$30 million in grant funding.
Grant Master, which is backed by the Mastercard Foundation and the United States African Development Foundation (USADF), has now launched Grant Wizard. The platform aims to address one of the biggest barriers organisations across Africa face in accessing grant funding – the time, cost, and complexity involved in preparing competitive applications.
Grant Wizard enables organisations to create a profile that captures their mission, programmes, and impact. From there, the platform scans thousands of grant opportunities and identifies those that align with the organisation’s sector, geography, and eligibility criteria. When a user selects a grant opportunity, the platform analyses the funder’s requirements and generates a structured proposal draft that can be reviewed, edited, and exported for submission.
For many organisations, preparing a single grant proposal can take dozens of hours and often requires hiring professional grant writers, which many cannot afford. Grant Wizard aims to dramatically reduce the time and cost required to apply for grants while making the process more accessible to organisations across the continent.
“Across Africa, we see incredible ideas and impactful organisations that struggle to access funding simply because the grant application process is complex and resource-intensive,” said Olugbenga Ogunbowale, CEO and co-founder of Grant Master. “Grant Wizard was built to simplify that process by combining artificial intelligence with the methodology we have developed through years of supporting grant applicants.”
Grant Wizard is built on insights drawn from Grant Master’s training and advisory programmes, through which more than 1,100 alumni and client organisations have collectively secured over US$30 million in grant funding.
